SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

SUBMISSIONS ARE CLOSED.

We welcome submissions from Biola University students, alumni, and faculty as well as students from Christian colleges all across California. We accept poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction (creative narrative), poetry, and B+W artwork.

**Please note that we will not accept any pieces that contain any form of hate speech or offensive language/imagery.

Please follow our submission guidelines below:

Email submissions to inkslinger.club@biola.edu

In the subject line of the email, please put “22-23: [your piece name(s) – your name].” Your subject should look something like this: “22-23: The Road Not Taken, Birches – Robert Frost.”

In the body of your email, include your name as it should appear in the publication, school, major, and year.  (You will not be judged by this information; this is just for our own analytics purposes).

You may submit work from more than one category, but please include each piece in a separate file.  For example, if I am submitting two poems and a fiction piece, I would have three separate documents: two documents for the two poems and the fiction piece in a third document.

Label files like this: INK_22-23_[name of medium]_[title]
E.G.  INK_22-23_poetry_thewasteland
INK_22-23_fiction_prideandprejudice
INK_22-23_nonfiction_fakename
INK_22-23_art_monalisa

DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR NAME ANYWHERE IN THE BODY OF THE DOCUMENT.

Please submit your work as a PDF and Google Doc (shared with kaira.low@biola.edu AND inkslinger.club@biola.edu) for written works and high quality jpegs (recommended 300 ppi) or PNGs for visual work.

For fiction and creative nonfiction, please do not exceed 2000 words.

For poetry, please submit up to six pieces.

For visual work, please submit up to ten pieces.

You can expect to receive a response from us by March 2023. We look forward to reviewing your work!
